The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Hola cocreators!!

Recently I have had some weird experiences just before I get to sleep. It's like I am between the consciousness and unconsciousness at the same time. What I feel is like I will go to other place, I think my breathing stops but when I feel this, I get desperate and suddenly I wake up. I have read about "out of the body experiences" and I just think I am very scared of this, without knowing where I will go, if I will go back, how will I go back to my body, will I see my own body on bed?, etc.

Maybe I have not read too much about this subject but only knowing that it can happen, it made me be scared of it. Right now I could say to my self "don't be afraid! you should not be scared", but in an unconscious level it's hard to not be.

Today I had a dream when I was looking the stars of Orion's belt, instead of 3 it was 5 stars. They started to move and suddenly the first one became in a bigger light, in that moment I heard a whistle in my ears, my breathing stopping and then I woke up.

I wanted to share this experience and receive some answer of those whom has experienced this (maybe a lot of you) and your advices and maybe explanations, whatever you want to share.

Thanks for your answer! It's first time I hear about Sleep Paralysis, it sounds interesting but at the same time... :S

I don't know if that's what I am experiencing because I always wake up, and I can move my body. I will look for more info about it!

Hmm, interesting dreams. I guess it depends on what you believe is happening. Some people I know can OBE at will, others astral travel. I think Ive had a couple of OBEs, fun ones, very short though, lol.
I think and OBE is when you travel out of your body but stay in the same physical enviroment, like here on earth. I think astral travel is when you move into another plane, similar to what you experienced.
Im no expert though, just my experiences.
Ive not heard anyone say they actualy stoped breathing though.
You may want to do some searches on the subjects. Each persons perspective is different though. Let us know how you go.

Yes, that's true. I think that too, all depends in what I believe or I have believed, I the last 2 years I have changed a lot my way of thinking and perspective on how to see all things, but before that I grew up with believes that became part of me without knowing or wanting and now it's hard to let them go easily.

I think it should be the most natural thing for human beings.

Though I don't want to look too much about the subject and don't get scared. I will try it and share with you.
You can hallucinate upon wakening...Its a psychological phenomona of sleep...What you are describing is normal and you sound as if you are in Stage 1 of sleep.
Interesting point. It could be that, I was reading about it and I also feels things described in Stage 3 and 4 like "Decrease from 10 to 30 % of arterial tension and of the respiratory pace", but maybe it's a very deeply stage to be a little conscious and wake up quickly.

I just wanted to add that you can ask your higher self before going to sleep to only have positive experiences and/or say things that put your mind at ease, such as 'I am always protected, there is only well-being, I am a spiritual being,' etc. if you want you can read about all the wonderful and enlightening experiences others have had with this. there is nothing to be afraid of. and know that you already do it all the time anyway, you just don't remember! *sweet dreams

Hi, do we need some clarification of th facts here? It often helps get a handle on things.
'Sleep paralysis' is is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occurs during REM sleep, which is something we all do, every time we sleep. It's stops our body enacting our dreams.
Th paralysis isn't in itself a bad thing, it's quite normal.
Many people even value it as a way to induce OBEs. They spend a lot of time & money on becoming aware of it & using it.
It just feels a bit odd when it unexpectedly continues into wakefulness.
- It doesn't help if you get anxious, tho'. Never a good idea to panic.
- It definitely gets scary when there appears to be a demonic force out there, real or not.
But i reckon in either case, Brandy & Ediths' good advice still holds.
NB.
* You can easily break sleep paralysis using deep breathing.
When you deep breathe for about 10-15 seconds your body notices th change from your usual sleep breathing and brings you out of sleep paralysis.
* Coz it's hard to get calm in a situation you find stressful, practice when you're awake.
eg. do some breathing meditation & take refuge in a higher force.
That's always a chillin thing to do.
Sounds to me like you are shifting consciousness (having an oobe) but the fear of not breathing zaps you back into your body. This sort of shifting is actually very natural. Consider yourself blessed! You can read books on how to control this process. Any books by Dr. Robert Monroe
