“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
a speach by Nelson Mandela
Wow....what the Universe is capable of is awesome. My journey back to this discussion was amazing. First to receive an email that a disgruntled co-creator was shooting poison arrows at me. This before my first cup of coffee and piece of left over thanksgiving apple pie. Heavy sigh. Then off to read the outstanding blog from the disgruntled creator. Oh my heavens was she ever mad. That's ok. I said my Peace and moved on. I can only intend in my mind that the event of the blog will bring LIGHT to others regarding privacy issues on the net. But then it lead me to a responders page. I don't take the direction of the Universe lightly. When God points me in a direction I go. So off to the page of one of the sympathizers to send off a friend request. After all she lent herself to lean on in a time of need for the disgruntled. I like that. But then as I was leaving her page...I saw a glimpse of her friend list and spotted a long time mutual friend who I hadn't seen in a while on her list. So again, off to the long time friends page. I stopped in to say hi ...leaving her a message on her comment page. I saw that she liked this discussion in her activity so it peeked my curiosity...since I remembered being involved in this discussion that Michael wrote back in 2010 ....a long time ago. So as you can see, the disgruntled co-creator brought me here.
The first line of the discussion "“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure." was heart felt". Michael did you write that...oh no...lol it was Nelson Mandela.
I have long forgotten how we effect others. When you bring light upon someone else's fear and it tail spins into a journey for yourself....it does show us the Power beyond measure that we have. It surely is the light that most frightens.
The statement above I hold dear in times like these.
"There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you...As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”.
I haven't seen you in a long while Michael. May you and your family be blessed in reading this. This discussion has come full circle when first written back in 2010...over a year ago. And Thanks for writing it. And thank you God for using Heidi to bring me back to it, may you soften her heart and have slowness to anger, knowing that we are all most certainly connected as this occurrence has demonstrated.
