Networking for your business
Being social creatures, networking is very natural for us.
Why not use it to promote and grow your business relationships?
There are so many networks available now, ning has bunches of them.
I even started one of my own, http://earthmotherselfheal.ning.com/
Now ning even has a network to help you promote your network.
My purpose of creating my network was to allow me to work more closely with my clients and customers.
I really don't have time to answer a hundred questions each day through email. I can however check in several times a day and answer questions to groups and forum discussions. The network allows those that are interested in healing/life coaching/stones/crystals, to come together in one place and share wisdom.
When you start your own network, focus on meeting the needs of your customers and clients.

I am interested in doing this - starting a network related to my business of editorial consulting/marketing/writing.
Tell us - I'm sure others would like to know as well - some further detail of how you did this, or how we can start our own network somewhere.
It's kind of vague to me since I haven't used Ning, etc. before. And have also been VERY distracted in recent weeks.

p.s. How about if we, in this group, start sharing some things that are working for us -- as you did -- to bring in more business and grow revenue.
I am presently posting ads for my services on various sites - will let you all know what happens and intend to "keep score" on new clients and work apearing. Starting a free newsletter on your topic of expertise is another way to generate some leads and help people at the same time.
