The Year of the "One" for Business...
Many organizations are cutting corners, eliminating hours, eliminating positions and generally tightening their belts in order to ride out the wave of the current “recession”
This could be the ideal time to create a new venture for yourself, that venture that you have always wanted but didn't have the time, money or energy to do just started to look rather lucrative.
Just as there are two sides to every coin so it is to the “recession”... the other side of this coin is the opportunity to experience being at the helm of your life and creating the lifestyle that you desire for yourself.

According to Thomas Frey, Senior Futurist at the DaVinci Institute, the coming change in administration for the US will spark a upswing of private start-up businesses.
“With financial markets being pinched, the most popular form of startup will be the Empire of One, one-person businesses with far reaching influence. Technology is driving a trend of placing unprecedented power and capability into the hands of the individual. That trend coupled with skyrocketing costs of employment make this a perfect environment for a no-employee business to thrive.
Look for rapid growth of support structures, management systems, and outsourcing options. Even colleges and traditional business schools will see this emerging trend and start to teach courses on one-person entrepreneurship.”

The advantages of one person entrepreneurship are many including the ability to set your own hours, your own salary and most of all tap into your creative vein and produce with passion and get paid for it.
All the creativity, long hours and bright ideas are yours to be acknowledged and rewarded.

On the other hand it also poses the ongoing problem of creating over work, underpay and lack of creativity. Think of it this way, whatever problems you had in your old job you will have in your new one unless and until you shift the attitude that cause the problem.
If the problem was too much work and not enough free time... then learn to manage your time more effectively. The only difference between then and now is that you have no upper management or the company to blame your ineffectiveness on.. Only YOU.
If you were not making enough money before, NOW you don't have to go and ask for a raise... shift you attitude and give yourself a raise.You are the boss... decide how much you are wanting to earn and create a stradegy to make it happen.

If your old job didn't give you a creative outlet... guess what you can now create whatever you want because you are the BOSS.
This new opportunity gives you the view from the drivers seat so to speak and at the same time lets you have and the freedom to shine.

Hi Alaia -

I would really love some help with ideas for marketing my writing/editing/marketing services.

I have loads of experience but have been making the selling aspect of my expertise "too hard" - much harder than it really is. Thinking now about Abraham-Hicks and the "going with the flow - downstream, instead of upstream" notion.

I know there is a demand for what I offer. Your site, with its beautiful images of beaches and waves reminded me that everything is much easier when we are in harmony with the natural flow.

Tell me more about how you might consider helping.
