It's Kevin Costner - whose machines are headed to the Gulf
This vid may be a little slow and just ignore the commercial at the outset:
From ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/kevin-costner-machine-bp-oil-clean... From the ABC news website:
"Actor Kevin Costner testified at Wednesday's House committee on Science and Technology hearing on Capitol Hill, saying he can provide an oil-separating technology "that is available immediately, a technology that will allow rigs to resume operation and put people back to work." --Apparently BP has bought into it - there may be more on ABC/NBC-type news networks about this tonight. No doubt they will report how they're working.

2 Young Girls are in Ottawa Canada are Collecting Dog Hair/Human Hair to Clean Up the Gulf ocean

To help clean oil spill, Merrickville girls seek your hair

Merrickville sisters Taylor (left) and Peyton Horning are on a quest to collect human and dog hair to help animals caught in the Gulf oil spill.

The sisters (Peyton on left, Taylor on right) hope to collect 500 pounds of hair to help clean up the oil spill.

They're too young to vote and too young to drive, but sisters Taylor, 11, and Peyton Horning, 9, feel you don't have to be very old to make a difference. The Merrickville girls are collecting hair to help animals caught in the Gulf oil spill.

"We're kids and we don't have a lot of money, and this doesn't involve money," says Taylor.

The young agents of environmental change felt the need to get involved when shocking pictures of oil-covered animals appeared on their television screens."We saw the oil spill on the news . . . (and realized) hair could suck up oil," Taylor adds.

So wagon in hand, they go from salon to salon in their town, putting hair in buckets. From humans to pooches.

Once they have enough hair, the sisters send out the locks to be placed into "hair booms" -- locks in pantyhose, an effective contraption to absorb the oil.

The girl's goal is to collect 500 pounds, which would clean 50,000 quarts of water.

"I think I'm going to say I helped make this happen," says Peyton of the legacy, "and it's going to be really good."

Also saw a video saying something about hair being used to mop up some of the spill - because hair can attract oil.
