Hi - Anyone here? haha. I read Artist's Way at intervals and try do morning pages - also like her other book, "Walking in the World."
Hope this group attracts other artists and writers interested in the creative process so we can compare notes!

I started my challange on 1st June. Up 'til then I was a devotee of The Artists Way and have used morning pages for 2 years. It would be good to attract more numbers, but three is good... let's inspire each other!

Hi All - Diana, in particular, since you've done morning pages for two years - How did that work for you? What new ideas, etc. did you discover from the practice?
As a writer, I've found that it definitely helps free up the creative flow. Must resume them again - it's a matter of discipline - and when to do which practice, including meditation, etc.

The best thing about morning pages is its a great place to find an answer to your problems (life and creative). I find that stream of consciousness writing releasing, out come all the blurts and negativity; and in come the lovely things underneath. Often at the end of a session I might have found a solution to something thats been on my mind.

I've been going through julia cameron's book for so long now that I open the book at random for a 'prompt' word or phrase and work with that. Just lately, some days I dont write anything but go out into the garden with my journal and use a different medium to draw, crayon, sketch, or embroider something i see there.

Wow! These are good ideas, Diana. Might be helpful (I am sure it would be) in getting past "painter's block" and some weird holding back on writing this year. I like the idea of using paints and crayons--colors and play--to supplement the ideas and flow of journaling. Reading Cameron, I have found, also enhances a feeling of abundance and inner wealth.

I'm starting the artists way tomorrow, I've been putting it off and have read week 1 twice in the book ... and then not done anything. So tomorrow is the day.

For those have done it before or are currently going through it what changes have you seen?

The book has sent ripples through my whole family! My mother told me about it many years ago ...she has just graduated from university with a fine arts degree... one of my sisters had a breakdown & she used jc's book to help her rediscover her creativity, she later developed her own business... another sister who was a head teacher ... later retrained in complimentary therapies ..... WE all love morning pages!

Does anyone want a morning page prompt, say once a week, so that we could share what came up ?
