I Started using solvents at the age of 9years old to get away from the abuse at home life was rough through my childhood when I became a teenager I started drinking alcohol & using drugs & food to block out pain & feelings at first I thought that I was in control of the mind altering chemicals that I used but slowly & surely after a few years the alcohol & drugs took control of me and my life and nearly destroyed everything and everyone that was dear to me I am not a social drinker and never will be and thats fine because today my life is soooo much better I have fun without any chemical I know what I'm doing and who with and I've slowly but surely been growing up over the past 22 years. There were many issues that I needed help to address and lots of healing has taken place I continue my healing journey one day at a time and I am sooo grateful for the 12 step meetings, the Reiki sessions, meditation groups, the secret and this year Co-creators I am blessed if I can do this and be free anyone can I share my journey for those that might identify & want some guidance or those who also have a journey to share. Blessings Arohamai SoniaJ

this is chuck: I've been alcohol-free for about 6 weeks and I realize there is more to life than D,U.I's and hangovers.I thought drinking could help me overcome my shyness so I could sing in front of an audience.Instead it entombed me in misery and depression.I intend this tuesday to sing in a studio and overcome my redundant fears. Good luck to all. This is my first time posting on Nicoles cocreating site. I am happy to find you all!

Hi there everyone
Just to let you know that I was 10 years sober yesterday. What a geat feeling. I had a wee party at my home group in Bluff (the most southern group in the world excluding Antartica) last sunday.
I woke up feeling so grateful that I was in my own home, with my wee boy. My husband is at an assembely in Timaru this weekend. So Tane and I have had Mum and son time.
Hope all is well for everyone. Blessings to you.
Love Maree
