About Me:
Take 2! I wanted to re-write this as when I wrote it the first time it was all a little rushed. So, hello everyone! So a little about me! My name is Alex and I was born on the island of Tenerife in the canary island, but brought up in Ireland. As a little girl all I have ever spoke about was travelling the world, so alas thats what I have been doing. I studied travel and tourism and as soon as I could I was off. As part of my course I lived in Switzerland at 17 and then when I finished my course I moved to Italy for a couple of years. Those first experiences of travelling alone set me on the path of where I am now. I have never been career orientated. I always worked to get money to travel. I used to beat myself up over that, but then recently I came to the realisation that is ok. I have lived in lots of different places, new York, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, but my home is koh phagnan , Thailand, where I met my gorgeous man 8 years ago. We had a beautiful little girl 3 years ago who was born there. We lived there up until a year and a half ago. Now we are in south Africa where we have bought a boat and are currently renovating it. Shortly our adventure around the world will start. Brazil will be our first port of call. So you see, I am living my dream. The mode of transport was never made clear, but my dream of travelling the world was heard loud and clear. So I look forward to chatting to like minded people on this 100 day challenge.
Season 1
Starting Date:
January 6, 2012
Intentions & Goals:
So I am a firm believer in ask and you shall receive. I suppose the reason why I am doing this is so I become more clear about what it is I want to receive. So here goes! My goals are:
-to have a healthy and fit body and my intention are to eat smaller amounts and be conscious of what I am putting in my mouth. I am going to exercise daily. By cycling, yoga, with a trainer once a week and slowly start the cool runnings programme.
- start to meditate
- I want to be a travel writer and publish articles from around the world. So I will need to find out the best way about approaching magazines etc. Hopefully an income can be made from doing this.
- I want to be able to use my souped up fancy camera to it's best ability. So I intend to practice more and learn so that I can take great pictures to accompany my articles.
- give more attention and love to my beautiful man
-to finish the renovation of our boat so we can be off on our travels.
- join the mystery school

The last few days have been a bit challenging for me. although today thinking about it I am learning a lot of things through this challenge. If you slip off track don't get disheartened, just get back with it as soon as you can.another one is to live in the moment. I love the idea of acknowledging what my goals are and I am aware that my thoughts actions are manifesting with each moment. I have to trust now , that I have put the ball in motion and that my path will unfold bringing out my… Continue

Energising myself, not exercising

Posted on January 17, 2012 at 8:43am 5 Comments

Exercise has always been a tough one for me. I know in order to be fit and healthy exercising is a must. Yesterday I started my morning with an amazing yoga class. I felt so energised after it. It felt like I was tapping back into the source with each breath I took. Today I started the cool runnings programme. I was always so negative about running, but with the easy programme to follow, I really enjoyed it. So I have decided to not to call it exercise anymore, as I have something in my brain… Continue

alex here is a few links to get you going .  i also think it is a great idea to approach some some boat magazines/family boating magzines about sponsoring you or signing an article deal, say one article a month for 6 months to document your boat adventure. id even contact the girl from travel writers life and tell her your story about your trip and see what she reccomends about how to get a deal signed with a magazine. do some research first, to find out which boating magazine, online or paper that covers stories on family boating.. know you rmarket , choose the best one, then go for it babe.

starting a blog now is good to document the preparations of the trip, even if yo dont publish them jsut save them. butdo journal it as this will also be really interesting for other people who thinking about doing a similar trip.  you can write an ebook on the how to prepare for a baot adventre with a child or something similar. you can do this babe, you have a great oportunity to make your experience an income earning experince as well as the trip of your life time , your dream xxx

love the profile words alex, ill keep an eye out for info on getting articles published in magazines. you can become a mega star on line though too, so perahps think about setting up a travel blog , there is loads of info online about which is the best blog to use to monetise your writing, jsut start googling and learning. its easy to blog, really easy, and it can make you money, and then the magazines will be knocking  down your door. good luck with the goals , its great fun to be part of this isnt it. xx
