I've had pc problems and wasn't able to post, then my virus protection prevented me from posting. Sorry 'bout that.

I'm doing better; thanx for asking Aleksandra, but still having the same ol' problem. I've been looking into organizations that I can join but so far, no luck. I'm not a "craft" person, Jilly, but I am into antiques so I'm hoping to find someone who is interested in that. I'm having a Victorian tea on the 11th and I'm sure it will be nice. That isn't the problem. People are always happy to attend teas, dinners, any social event that I have. The problem is getting them to reciprocate.

Someone who says I'm like a sister to her and an aunt to her sons just celebrated her 50th birthday and had a party. She didn't invite me. Her eldest son was apparently ashamed of his mother's behavior and emailed and called me the day before the party and said "She must have just forgotten to invite you. I'm sure she wants you there." I did go, for his sake, but my feelings were hurt, although I didn't let on because I wasn't about to spoil the party. Another friend whom I invited to dinner every Sunday for nearly two years along w/her two daughters because they were unemployed has turned her life around, got work, and has been in her new duplex for over a year now. She said that she'd like to invite me for Thanksgiving dinner last year and I was thrilled! In the very next breath, she rescinded the invitation and said that she just doesn't entertain. I've invited her for every holiday dinner along w/her daughters and I just don't understand this treatment.

I could go on and on but I don't want to sound like a whiner. If I had family nearby, it would be different but I live in OH and my son lives in L.A., so we don't see each other as often as we'd like. Fortunately, he'll be home for the holidays.

So there's the gist of what's been happening. I'm not giving up and I'm trying my best to stay positive but as the weather gets colder and I'll be in the house more, it becomes increasingly difficult to put on a smile.
