Day 34 | There is never enough time, unless you're serving it. ~ Malcolm Forbes

woa, i have been bad about blogging. time really flies. well, i got my elephant prototype made and everybody loves him. I finished my after effects class, and i feel pretty confident i know the tools and program well enough to accomplish the animations i want to make.

Still waiting on my miracle airfare deal to Argentina, but i may just have to bite the bullet and shell it out. Doing my therapy like i said i would, but will fore go the class at art students league, but will focus… Continue

Day 20 & 21

Day 20 & 21

Hmmm..not too much going on. Busy days at work, heat wave going on. Thinking a lot about things on the subway to and from work. Heard a story about a shaman retrieving pieces of a persons soul. These parts of you go away and hide in their special places when traumatic things happen to a person. Sounds interesting.

Saw a movie: The Last Mistress. was about detrimental yet undeniable love between two people.

Day 19 | Youth would be an ideal state if it came a little later in life. Herbert Henry Asquith

Today I was sitting on the fire escape watching a family out in the courtyard. The young mother was blowing bubbles and a little boy was running around the kiddy pool trying to catch them. And I thought, gosh I wish I were that little boy, purely enjoying the moment of chasing bubbles on a hot summer day.

Also did some work on my video idea, gathering assets so I'm ready to go when the doll prototype is… Continue

Day 18

Posted on July 20, 2008 at 3:07am 0 Comments

An excellent day at the beach with good friends. Lots of brainstorming going on, nice creative discussions. Followed by a nice sushi dinner, then i went to see The Dark Night at the AMC25 on Times Square. Lots of audience interactivity, I love movie magic. I want to be part of it someday.

On the train ride home thought about how my father always pushed me to make something of my own, never to be happy just following. Example: When learning the piano, he encouraged me to write my own… Continue

Day 17

"No one can afford to assume that someone else will solve their problems. Every individual has a responsibility to help guide our global family in the right direction. Good wishes are not sufficient; we must become actively engaged."His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Progress:

Did more research on the puppet tool in after effects. This will allow me to make animations on a LOW budget. No actors, no one I have to rely on. Every creative bit generates from… Continue

HI Monica! It's the week-end, so I'm dropping in on my friends to see what they are up to. My mother doesn't believe in therapy, but it's been a lifesaver for me, literally. Luckily for me, my therapist this time around believes in LOA. We don't spend a lot of time talking about it, but it's nice to be able to mention it without feeling like I'll be judged.

Focusing on my artwork also helps me be positive. Eckhart Tolle, author of A New Earth and The Power of Now says that "All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness." It sounds like you reach that place. I do occasionally, and hope to reach it much more often. I think my work is better when I do.

Take care. Cindy

Elaine,
hmm.. No, i don't really have a practice that i follow in these times. I find the focus of working on my artwork helps me abstain from negative thoughts. I have also decided to try therapy (which my family does not believe in). And sometimes a shower with lavender oil and going to bed early with no tv really helps to calm my nerves, or whatever tension i feel in my solar plexus.

Many things converged at once, and i didn't even reveal half of them. I have been through similar dark times and somehow managed to come out alright. I know that better times are ahead, if i can just get through today and maintain my sense of self.

Thanks for the support!

Monica,

Yes, I can see that you have been through a lot in this past time but you truly have the heart of a lion. You are doing the right thing to continue seeking and to keep your eyes focused on the direction you want your life to go.

I think that at the core of using LOA work is to awaken our spiritual side and throught doing this, life's suffering takes on a whole new, more acceptable meaning. I practice Nicheren Buddhism on a daily basis and it has helped me deal with and move past abusive relationships, and to process unexpected death more peacefully.

Do you have some sort of practice that will help you to keep the faith in this trying time?

(((Monica))) You can do this. I have been there, where you are now but today I am REALLY happy.
