S1 ~ D5 Wrestling with Religion and then Discovering Awareness

It’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and I’m feeling pretty good so far. It’s also Day 5 of the 100 Day Challenge and I’m feeling like this challenge has helped me live more deliberately up to this point. That’s the biggest difference between last year and the beginning of this year—living more deliberately. Yesterday was a good day and I set myself up to have another great day today. I’m reading Revolutionary Road this week by Richard Yates before the movie comes out this Friday. Katie and… Continue

S1 ~ D3 Lesson Learned -- Make the Most of Every Moment

This is Day 3 of the 100 Day Challenge. Overall, I’m still very excited and hopeful. I’m finding strength and encouragement in one way or another from everyone else that I’ve connected with on this site. Other than being a little busy this weekend with work, kids, and Katie, I’m still determined to get my 30 minutes of writing in every day. I actually had the opportunity to do yesterday’s 30 minutes of writing at work.

Within the last 24 hours, I have heard from 3 different people on… Continue

S1 ~ D1 Should have expected nothing less than Resistance!!

Until Today was another great one for me today. Iyanla Vanzant says, “Life will work for me when I realize . . . when I tell myself the truth, I can trust myself! If your life is a mess, here are a couple things you may want to consider cleaning up: 1. Are you keeping your agreements? Are you doing what you say you will do? Or are you telling little fibs to get out of the things you agreed to do? When you do not keep your agreements then lie to cover them up, you create little messes all… Continue

The Curious Case of Benjamin Boring!!!!

Today I’m excited! Today is the first day I have had to work and fulfill my intention to sit down and write for 30 minutes every day. And you know what . . . work wasn’t such a drag knowing I would be heading home to hit the keyboard. I haven’t been this eager and excited about writing since I was writing a newsletter on a regular basis. Only now I’m dedicated to writing every day—with no specific topic in mind—with a childlike giddiness about what’s going to come out of me. Sure I will have… Continue

Day 100 Blog: April 24th, 2009, 102 days early!!!

I was reading my daily reading by Iyanla Vanzant in Until Today!, and I was impressed with just how accurately she described where I’m at today. She says, “Life will work for me when I realize . . . I cannot fail in life! You may break an arm, a leg, or a foot. You may lose sight. You may become hard of hearing. You may lose touch. It’s okay! You are building stamina. Spirit is always trying to see just how much you will take and how much you can do, under as many circumstances as… Continue

Pre-100 Day Challenge -- 3 days before start day!!!

Steven Pressfield says in The War of Art, “Like a magnetized needle floating on a surface of oil, Resistance will unfailingly point to true North—meaning that calling or action it most wants to stop us from doing. We can use this. We can use it as a compass. We can navigate by Resistance, letting it guide us to that calling or action that we must follow before all others. Rule of thumb: The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel… Continue

Pre-100 Day Challenge -- 4 days before start day!!!

I opened the book, Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior, right to the exact page that I needed to read today. Dan Millman said, “Walking a different path, no longer fitting in, can be a test of character. It may entail finding new friends who share our values. We have to deal with the fear that our changes in behavior or lifestyle may distance us from our spouses, partners, or friends. When moving into new and unfamiliar territory, explorers typically face the fear of separation, being cut off… Continue
