The 100 Day Reality Challenge

As the title says, I am saying Goodbye. I am saying Goodbye to my Grandmother, she will not be with us long. She's had complications this past week and now she's in Hospice care.

I am there every day, holding her hand, feeling my feelings, and allowing what is unfolding to unfold.

It is a very bittersweet thing. I am so grateful I've been here in the USA the past year and a half, and I am so fortunate to be able to tell her all of the things that are in my heart before she leaves us. I am surrounded by loving family and friends who are sharing stories and hugs, food and tears. I am as blessed as I can be, under the circumstances.

I believe with all my heart that we are spirit beings, walking around in earth-suits for awhile, having human experiences, sharing lives and love. She may leave us but her spirit will always be near. I am sad but I feel a lot of peace, too.

I won't be around this site for a week or so, so wanted to let you know what was up. Today I am taking the morning with my husband and son to relax at home for awhile. I am baking my Grandma's banana bread recipe to take to the Hospice later today to share. My Grandma loves to bake and her banana bread is the last thing she made before she went into the hospital.

Take good care everyone, and make sure you take the time to be with family. All we have is now.

Much love,
Clarissa

I don't know how I missed this post until now. I'm so glad that you have a chance to spend time with your grandma, I bet nothing makes her happier then having her family with her right now. I think the banana bread was a good idea. My family will be thinking of all of you, I hope that you're doing well and all of the love that you all share will get you all through this time.

We'll talk to you soon

Clarissa,
I am sorry to hear about your grandma.. You are so lucky to have this time with her. It sounds like you are making the most of these last moments and that is great. It really is an honor to be with someone when they pass. I was with my mom, she was never conscious so I could really talk to her physically but I did so on another level. I can see her passing as a beautiful event;as a graduation of sorts of going on to the next wonderful thing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, give grandma a hug from me.

Love,
Kate
