One of my favorite goals I have right now is to complete one random act of kindness a day. How fun it has been since the challenge started to wake up and think "what can I do to brighten another person's day"? What a great way to start the day! It is amazing how quickly that focus of "How can I help others" change my attitude from grumpy, to grateful and fun!
One of the days I chose not to argue and yell at my husband. One day I picked up all the litter at the playground. However, yesterday's random act of kindness really stood out. We went out to have an amazing breakfast and a lady in her 80s sat down at our table (no other space was available in the resturant). All of the waitstaff knew her as a "regular" that had been coming in for the past 10 years. We talked with her and she walks 1 mile to eat there everyday!!!! As we were finishing our meal my husband leaned over and whisped "Let's secretly pay her tab before we leave". SO WE DID! What a rush--it made our day all day! It really feels SO good to give to others.
