True Happiness in this Life IS Giving
I live with constant back pain. I'm overweight. I'm losing or selling most all the worldly possessions I own due to financial hardship, including my house. I cashed in 20 years of retirement savings to live on because I have no current income. My business of two years is just taking off, will be profitable, and is doing well, but has not made a profit yet. I know that my time is now, that I am making progress, that it is going to be and be successful.
In spite of all this, my life is the best it has been in a long time. Why? Because I have reinvented myself and adapted to change many times before in my life. Because I know with certainty I will succeed. Because I'm doing everything I can to improve myself and my life, and the lives of those around me, no matter what kind of storm rages on around me. You can't stop doing what you know is right and yield to circumstances beyond your control. Be the best, loving person you can be along your own path. You have to press on and do what you must to succeed for yourself and others. I give everything of myself to everyone around me that I can.
And yet I am happy.
Why? How can this be possible? I am fortunate enough to have known my purpose early in life, and I try my best to do it well. I'm doing it right now. We all know in our hearts what it is we are here on this earth to do. Our job is to use the law of attraction, the law of deliberate creation, and the law of allowing, to gather information, nurture our talents and interests, and use them to the best of our ability to love one another. To contribute more in life than what we take. To leave the world a better place for you having been there. My true purpose is to benefit the whole, the greater good, of everyone I meet, not just myself, to be a giver. To be a giver, not a taker. It's the giver that is given tenfold without even asking for it. The more you give away, the more is channeled through you, and you benefit from it. There is a great poem below about LIFTERS and LEANERS. I have always been a giver and come from a family of givers. That is who we are. Who I am. Who I will always be. Are you a LIFTER or a LEANER. It has been suggested that for every LIFTER in this world there are 20 LEANERS. It has been my experience that there is some truth to this: but the greatest gift you can give to others and yourself is to be a LIFTER in life. Help others to pick themselves up and be LIFTERS too.
Be a LIFTER.
There are two kinds of people on earth today,
Just two kind of people, no more, I say.
Not the good and the bad, for 'tis well understood
The good are half bad, and the bad are half good.
Not the rich and the poor, for to count a man's wealth
You must first know the state of his conscience and health.
Not the humble and proud, for in life's busy span
Who puts on vain airs is not counted a man.
No, the two kinds of people on earth that I mean
Are the people who LIFT and the people who LEAN!
Wherever you go, you will find the world's masses
Are ever divided in just these two classes.
And strangely enough you will find, too, I ween,
There is only one LIFTER to twenty who LEAN.
In which class are you? Are you easing the load
Of overtaxed LIFTERS who toil down the road?
Or are you a LEANER who lets others bear
Your portion of worry and labor and care?
