Season 1 Day 54 - Been A Great Day and an Even Better Week!
It could have been a bad day... but all of these things that I've been learning here, and with my life coach, and with the books I've been reading, I was able to stay positive, and even got my boyfriend to start thinking positive.
What happened was that we got turned down for a merchant account. His credit is not good at all, and my is only a little better. We HAVE to have a Merchant account for our business. We can't actually start the business without it. We tried going through a provider that my boyfriend used for his small online business. We talked to them, told them the problem with our credit, and explained that we could get a co-signer if neccessary. They said they would try to work with us, ect. We got an email this morning saying that we didn't qualify because of our bad credit, our business hasn't been open long enough (hello? It's a start up!) and some other assinine reason.
Steve got upset. Which he had every right to be upset about it. I had gotten a quote from Abraham-Hicks, and used it to make me feel better. It said"
Anytime you feel negative emotion, stop and say: Something is important here; otherwise, I would not be feeling this negative emotion. What is it that I want? And then simply turn your attention to what you do want. . . . In the moment you turn your attention to what you want, the negative attraction will stop; and in the moment the negative attraction stops, the positive attraction will begin. And—in that moment—your feeling will change from not feeling good to feeling good. That is the Process of Pivoting.
So, I followed the advice in the email, and it worked!
What I want is a Merchant Account, that will work with us, even with our bad credit. So I went looking for one online. A bunch of websites popped up, (thank you Google!) and we applied. We should hear back from them tomorrow. If that one doesn't work out, there are a ton more out there. So I'm not worried. We'll find just the right one and it'll work out perfectly.
Anyway, things are still going on with the business. We're just waiting on the Merchant account, to actually to start the business. Then all we need is money! LOL! It's not really a lot of money that we need... well depending on what your definition of a LOT is! We need 5-10 thousand to keep us going for 2-3 months. Mostly to pay our rent, bills and food. We only need enough for a couple of months, because by the time the money starts coming in from my customers, that will be more than enough to cover our bills, and pay back whatever loans we got.
So, I'm attracting the money too! I know the universe will send us the money... don't know how, doesn't matter. The Universe will use the path of the least resistance! The money will be there, the Merchant Account will be there, and everything will work out just as I want it too! :D

Hi Christine, I haven't tried for merchant accounts but I recently got my start-up credit card approved on a no limit AMEX, which was amazing since I was getting rejections from other small business credit card companies due to the fact that my business is too new, like what they told you. Good luck with it and thanks for sharing the Abraham-Hicks quote - makes me feel better about things I'm not so hot on these days... PJ
