It’s been a few days since I’ve had a chance to sit and write. And, in the midst of feeling guilty for not making time for writing, I’ve realized something significant. That the very things that have kept me from writing are also the same things I am most grateful for.
1. My job where I’ve been working overtime – being employed at a place where I actually don’t mind putting in the extra time because I enjoy the work and the people who work for me.
2. Christmas shopping, wrapping, etc. – having family and friends to show my appreciation to.
3. Spending extra time during the holidays with the people who mean the most to me.
4. The great feast that my boyfriend and my mother put on for our entire family.
5. All the thoughtful gifts given to me.
6. Cards and phone calls form far away friends I couldn’t see in person.
7. The inner strength to remain positive during the most chaotic and stressful time of year.
8. Living alone so I can have moments of quietude when I need to clear my head.
9. Daily practices that keep me feeling sane.
10. Inspiring people who remind me how precious life is and to live to my best potential.
