The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Day 11 - Comittment, plans, fear, self-esteem, confidence.

"I'm stuck in place".

"There's no time for me".

"I'm always late".

"I'm not capable of doing this"/ "I don't have the ability to do this".

 

Those are the beliefs that I still have in my mind, telling me something which is not true. I just bought it as true. Now, I want to change that. And I felt the change happening. But now it's time to take it to a different level, the level of comitting to it. You see, I've been reading self-help books since I was 11, or even less. I participated in motivational speaking events since I was little, so I know a lot of authors, books and the teachings. But I haven't really committed to persistence and getting up when I fell down. I was the more staying on the ground kind of girl. But now, since I'm here, since I know it, since I believe in it, since I've read so many books and did so many things and thought so many thoughts...Why not?

 

So here I am, the girl who always hid herself, saying: I COMMIT TO STAY ON TRACK.

I COMMIT TO MAKE PLANS.

I COMMIT TO TRUST MY PLANS AND TRUST MYSELF.

I COMMIT TO STICK TO IT/THEM.

I COMMIT TO TRY AGAIN IF I FAIL.

I COMMIT TO BELIEVE MYSELF AND LOVE MYSELF.

I COMMIT TO STOP CRITICIZING ME AND START LOVING ME AND SAYING GOOD THINGS ABOUT MYSELF.

I COMMIT TO NOT BEING AFRAID OF LOSING THINGS, THE UNIVERSE WILL PROVIDE ME WITH EVERYTHING I NEED, 'TILL I REACH MY GOALS.

 

I comitt to live.

Some affirmations I found on the internet that might help:

 

We all get stuck sometimes. We fall into habits, even those that don’t benefit us. When it happens we often just need a gentle reminder to push forward, let go, and make new choices. Change is constant. You must be too. These affirmations are written to help.

  1. Beginning today, what serves me stays and what fails me goes!
  2. The past is the past, my direction is forward not back!
  3. Today I break old habits and I break new ground!
  4. I embrace change as a constant and powerful ally in my life!
  5. Today I let go of what is to embrace what can be!
  6. Today I am breaking old barriers and setting new trends!
  7. Whenever I break old mindsets, I always break new ground!
  8. I created my status quo and only I can change it!
  9. Today I dare the future, by releasing the past!
  10. Together we leave the past and we create the future!
  11. I choose to change because I choose to get better!

Something else to do to get rid of old beliefs is to find evidence in your life of them not being true. For example, remind yourself of the the times that you have not been late, or an example of you not being stuck. Affirmations are great but you really have to prove to yourself that the old beliefs are false, even if only some of the time. For example, my belief is that I will always be alone so I remind myself of all the times I haven't been alone, and really I'm not alone now, even though it feels that ways sometimes. So instead of just repeating affirmations, prove to yourself with evidence that your belief is not (entirely) true.

I so relate to your post and your problem. I too have these old beliefs that keep sticking around! Mine are that I will always be alone and my life will always be hard. So to that I say I AM NOT ALONE. I AM SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME. MY LIFE IS ABUNDANT AND EVERYTHING I NEED COMES TO ME.

You are on the right track. You have to repeat the real truth to yourself everyday, whenever you feel anxious or doubtful, whenever you are not sure what to do. Overtime your new beliefs will take the place of the old ones, especially because you will be attracting new positive experiences to yourself that will reinforce them. Good luck.
