The 100 Day Reality Challenge

I've been practicing daily yoga flows since Day 1 of this challenge. I'm starting to fully grasp the spiritual pathway that yoga can be when you just listen to your body and respond. I feel as if I have this Inner World that I can come back to over and over again. Every day is the same yet every day is different.

In my music career, I've been busy preparing for a couple of major events: The Jewish High Holidays and the World Meeting of Families and Papal Masses in Philadelphia for Pope Francis' visit. I very blessed that I am a musical leader in many different faiths and I'm excited to sing for the Pope as well as experience the epic solemnity of Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur morning and afternoon services, then Yitz Kor and N'ihla (??). Both of these events are in the upcoming week and weekend. I am anticipating a lot of peanut butter banana sandwiches on Ezekiel bread and a lot of calm soothing breathing. I will not hesitate to practice yoga if I am so inspired no matter where I am.

Really, I'm just going to take everything

I will breathe and surrender and I will see beauty in All the Things.

Hope you had an easy fast ;) Singing is my main career, but I am actually transitioning to phase many of my singing gigs out. When I became a professional mezzo soprano in 2005, I somehow convinced myself through society's programming and the programming of my parents that 1.) I have to take every single little gig that comes to me (because God forbid I turn down one $100 funeral gig, the next thing you know, I'll be homeless on the street... my dad's programming) and 2.) I will lose all the respect of my colleagues if I DARE have any interests or jobs OTHER than my singing (society's programming or really more like the professional "norm"). So this transition OUT of a full-time singing career INTO a part-time singing/ part-time fitness/yoga profession has been the underlying crux of all my CCOR challenges :)

On a completely UNRELATED subject, you are just the RIGHT person to share this with and to put this out to the Universe to: I have decided to convert to Judaism (Reform)!!! I have actually thought about this for years now, probably a decade, so it just seems right that since I'm making all of these transitions and changes in my life and I am phasing out a lot of music gigs that have kept me "too busy" for anything else, this would be a good time to convert. So I will be officially part of the Tribe :) Any advice is welcome!

And my Jewish name will, of course, be Hannah :))))

Sounds like you will have some wonderful experiences! Enjoy!

BTW is singing your career or hobby? Either way, it sounds so rich :)
