I will now give you all some wisdom if you are feeling a bit non-commital do not I repeat DO NOT do the placemat process out lined by the Abraham-Hicks books. And here is why.
So I did the process for the first time just to see how productive I could be in a day. I gave myself 7 things to do and the universe three. So as my day goes on I check off all but one thing on my list and then universe is now down to one last thing as well.
My last thing was to meditate something I do before I go to bed. The universe's task for today was to inform my boyfriend that he was going to be making the goodnight call because well I didn't feel like making it tonight. So before I meditate I decided to call my boyfriend and I left him a message assuming he fell asleep again on the couch by accident. So I sit down to meditate and all is well and I've got about a minute left when the phone rings. It's my boyfriend. I nearly had a heart attack when the phone rang so I answer it completely out of breath and sounding like I've run up a flight of stairs.
Thus I have decided that testing the universe- not a wise choice. But hey the process works. I just don't intend to use this process on days where I feel I may get lazy.
