I have such a strong desire to be "rich". Last night I was watching the travel channel as they featured yachts - some cost $21 million to build. I have difficulty even imagining that amount wealth. Today, I've had some strange coincidences - or as I call them, God-incidences.
While doing my Bible Study - I randomly flipped to Psalms. The page opened to Psalms 49:16 - Do not be overawed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases; for he will take nothing with him when he dies, his splendor will not descend with him. ...A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish.
While driving in my car - I flipped to the Christian radio station - they normally play music - but today it was a man speaking and this is what he said -
Those that ask for wealth don't know what they are asking for... you can't take it with you when you die...at times wealth gives a sense of false security... remember to remember God through your blessings. He is the Provider of all - he is the source you should rely on.
I rode with a friend in her car and this is what she shared with me...
My preacher was at the local fast food place this past week. His topic was that we can be generous where we are in life - to give what we have - and not wait until we feel prosperous. So, while he was standing in line and waiting his turn - he saw a lady with a kid in each arm, a purse slung over her shoulder, and was inching her stroller forward with her foot. Another woman was in line too - she was impatient and vocalized that she was in line first. The woman with the full arms - said in a kind voice to the impatient woman, "Why don't you go first, and I'll buy you a sandwich. It looks like you are having a bad day." Wow - to see generosity from an unlikely source - from someone whose plate of demands was overflowing - yet took the time to share what she had.
Interesting!
