This is sort of a continuation on my last post about living in the NOW. I'm sure a lot of you guys have read the "Power of Now" and "A New Earth". I've read both of these books several times and that was a long time ago..Now that I am starting to put the law of attraction into practice it is helping me realize how important it is to stay present. When you stay present you are opening up to the power instead of wandering around with a million thoughts flying through your head and missing all your cues form the universe. Although not all thoughts are negative, I've realized it's not good to be constantly thinking about the future. Because then you miss what's happening right NOW which is who you are and what your life is about.
I find that a lot of people including myself decide all these things about themselves like "I'm shy" or "I'm anxious" or "I have a lot of issues". The truth is You are whatever you are in whatever moment you happen to be in. If we just decide that we are a certain way then our reality will reflect that. You aren't the same person you were one minute ago, you're constantly growing and changing so shouldn't your beliefs about yourself be constantly changing too? And don't get me wrong it's hard to be constantly in the moment because we are so used to letting our minds wander. And there's nothing wrong with using your mind or day dreaming (balance) but I find that I have this whole other life in my head that I go to when my current reality is less than appealing.
Here are some ways to help snap yourself back to the present:
1. Every time you hear your ego condescend you like "You're not good enough". REALIZE that it's happening. Don't get mad or judge yourself just be like "I can heeeear you!" Cheeky little consciousness
2. Go out in nature and sync yourself with the flow. BE apart of the landscape. Nature has such a peaceful flow to it. Nature is living in the moment for sure! (This includes interacting with puppies and other animals!)
3. Send your love to the people you are with or even strangers as you walk down the street. Sometimes I sort of "bless" people. No I'm not a certified priest or whatever haha! But I'll just wish them a happy day or just feel love for them because we are all one when it comes down to it, so loving others is also loving yourself.
That last one has been the most powerful for me. I see people in a whole new light now. I would always judge people for something they said or for what they are wearing etc...And when you do that, that makes YOU feel bad because you subconciously think people must also be judging you. Once I started loving people instead of judging them, I've started to learn to accept myself and to stop judging myself. LOVE is so powerful!!
