I am sure with this "saying" as with many sayings it can be applied to more than one aspect of our lives if we choose to. But it is nice to see an interpretation that seems as close to the original intent as it could possibly be. If there is a higher interpretation than this one I would like to know it. The danger, as I see it, in not believing this to be a higher "truth" than other interpretations is that each of us are prisoners of sorts to our OWN beliefs UNLESS of course our beliefs are of the freeing kind. So to not believe this is in effect saying to yourself my imagination can't free me........ and what a shame that would be, considering this is the one thing that frees us from our present conditions.
I can play devil’s advocate myself and say wouldn’t getting a dream job or millions of dollars free me from my present conditions? It would but if your mind set is that those “outside conditions” are your redeemer then you are not in possession of the TRUTH and will always have the risk of being back where you were. Outside conditions are EFFECTS and not causes…. Therefore money is not a lasting redeemer. Having the right mindset IS. Perception has do with causes where as money, the abundance of or lack of, is the EFFECT of those causes.
The Truth that sets you free is that you can experience in imagination what you desire to experience in reality, and by maintaining this experience in imagination, your desire will become an actuality. - Neville
