Hi all! I just have a little update to the previous blog—“Using Your Melon”. Following that situation, my daughter has not purchased a watermelon since-until today. Many things have changed in her life over the past six months. She has been far more positive, and allowed more beauty into her life.
I am proud of the young woman she is becoming, and make sure to let her know whenever I can. I know that things aren’t always easy, but watching her learn this and be okay with that fact is very encouraging.
I think that she is learning to be more patient, and to allow more goodness into her life. For this I am very grateful. I love my little girl-and as any mother knows, she will always be my little girl, no matter how old she is. Now, however, I can truly say, she is growing up. She is becoming the woman I had always hoped she would become. Not for me, but for her.
Okay, so, having said all that, today, we were able to see the fruits of her efforts—in the form of her new watermelon. She decided to pick one up after work this evening (Oddly, a Saturday as well), and try for a better melon. This one was a gem—AND included, just for her, a heart :) Good job, Nana, I love you!
